SAINT PAUL’S BOARD OF TRUSTEES COMMEND EDDIE MOORE AND EXPLORE OPTIONS

LAWRENCEVILLE, VA – JUNE 25, 2012.  The Board of Trustees expresses its disappointment in the communication received from SACS this past Thursday, June 21, 2012 regarding the Commission’s denial of reaffirmation of Saint Paul’s College’s accreditation. The Board commends President Eddie N. Moore, Jr. for his leadership and tireless efforts, in the pursuit of reaffirmation and accreditation for Saint Paul’s College.  The Board thanks the college staff, faculty, and all other supporters of the college.  The Board will file an immediate appeal of the SACS action, provide our students with alternatives for the fall semester, and protect the assets of the college.  In addition, the Board is exploring all available options to select the best future course of action.  These options include: seeking other US Department of Education recognized accrediting bodies, partnering with other institutions, and possible mergers.  Further details are expected to be announced by the end of the week.
